The ultimate baseball themed arcade machine. Bought from the biggest restorer of these games out there, who left it in all original condition given it was in the best shape that he'd seen. The cabinets on these games have to be regularly replaced or remodeled. This one is all original and in great shape. More like a piece of antique furniture than a game. It's amazing that the machine operates on a single motor but is all ramps, etc. Youtube has videos of this type of game in action. Here's some more info. Description: World Series 1937, Rockola, one player, manikin playfield with the actual 1937 World Series All-star players' names. Game was made between 1937 and 1941 (production was stopped because of WW2). Game keeps track of balls, strikes and outs (not many pitch & bats keep track of balls thrown, or strikes for that matter). Pitcher can deliver up to fifteen different pitches (curve, fastball, etc, but in reality it's not that many pitches). When the pitcher throws a strike the umpire raises his right hand. If it's a ball, the umpire raises his left hand (the umpire is again a feature not seen on many pitch & bats). A series of gears and weights record the play with excellent accuracy. The batting roster which changes after each batter is Lou Gehrig, Babe Herman, Frank Crossetti, Pinky Higgins, Joe DiMaggio, Paul Waner, Chapman, Carl Hubbell and Bill Dickey. The fielding team is Dykes, Joe Medwick, Luke Appling, Earl Averill, Charlie Gehringer, Dizzy Dean, Demaree, Bill Terry, and Gabby Hartnett.
