Here's one you may not see again - a fully working and clean Monte Carlo by Atari! I've been collecting/refurbishing these wonderful games since last century and this is the first time I've come across this beauty! The game is fully working. All self-tests pass and all buttons, steering wheel, switches, etc. All the lights work, too, even the coin door lights!

The interior of the game is entirely original. Some components were replaced on the main board for functionality and all headers reflowed on the power supply. The monitor chassis has been recapped and a new flyback has been installed. The monitor looks great, save for some Monte Carlo burn.

A new speaker has been installed and sounds perfect. The control panel was stripped of its parts and cleaned with Awesome! And Magic Eraser so the colors look fantastic. The shifter, buttons and steering wheel were all removed and cleaned, with the wheel also getting the Coke/aluminum foil treatment for some rust spotting that trick does work! All visible bolts were stripped and repainted properly as well.

The black formed bezel has many a cig burn up top, where it meets the screen bezel. There is some scratching, sadly, on the screen bezel itself but just a couple of cig burns. The cabinet is overall solid, with artwork inspired by the great George Opperman (Atari's art director at the time of this game's production) - its sweeping lines and funky colors scream the 70s. There has been some touch-up on the white and black sections of the cab but I've left the colored art sections alone. The lower sides of the cab has some wear/damage as you would expect after so long. The pedal mechanism was removed and the silver metal stripped as best as possible, leaving some wear pitting. I was debating painting it silver but wanted to leave it as original as possible, so I did not.

The housing for the pedal was repainted, however. The coin door was refinished and looks outstanding. The game can accept quarters if you wish and comes with the original coin box, instruction/settings sheet and back doors.
